The Tweenage Rugrats In:
"Coco's Wedding, Again"

By Dwayne Anderson

It was an early summer morning in August. Kira and Chazz had just woken up. They were now making breakfast along with Chazz' parents. They were making flapjacks.

Suddenly, the phone began to ring.

"I'll get it" said Chazz.

He picked up the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hello" said a woman's voice on the other end. "May I speak to Kira?"

"Who is this?" asked Chazz.

"I'll give you a hint" said the voice. "She used to work for me!"

Chazz could not believe what he had heard.

"It's for you" he said, handing the phone over to Kira.

"Hello" said Kira.

"Hello Kira" said the voice.

Kira could not believe what she had heard.

"Madame Labouche?!"

"So nice to talk to an old employee again" said Coco.

"You didn't fire me Coco" said Kira. "I quit, remember?"

"So I do. I have some very important news to tell you."

"What is it this time Coco?"

"I just called to say that something wonderful just happened to me."

"Let me guess, you got a job involving spending time with children."

"Not quite" said Coco. "But it's even better. I recently met a wonderful man and we're getting married this Sunday!"

"And...?"

"And I just called to say that you, your family, and your friends are invited to attend the wedding. Well, gotta go now!"

Coco hung up.

Kira hung up too.

"What did Coco want?" asked Chazz.

"She just called to say that we're all invited to her wedding this Sunday. It almost seems as if this is a new Coco."

"Well I still reserve a right to remain suspicious" said Chazz. "Remember the time she almost married me? She did it just to further her career. And she would have succeeded if it weren't for Chuckie."

"Chazz, I was told as a girl that there is goodness in everyone. And I'm sure that the way Coco talked to me, it almost seems as if she has changed."

"Alright then" said Chazz. "Let's go to her wedding."

However, Kimi, Chuckie, and their friends and families were not at all excited about the news.

"Coco, getting married?" asked Chuckie.

"Yeah right" said Phil. "Who'd be brave enough to marry Coco?!"

He and Dil laughed and they hi-fived.

"Mom, have you lost your mind?!" said Kimi. "Coco is a bad, bad woman!"

"Mind your manners Kimi" said Chazz. "Now I know you all hold a grudge against Coco, but I assure you all that Coco has changed. She wants us all to attend her wedding. And you kids will be coming too."

The kids groaned.

A little later that day, everyone finished packing and went to the airport. They boarded the plane to Paris and flew off.

Chuckie was nervous about seeing Coco again. He remembered that she had almost married his dad:

"I now pronounce you, husband and..." began the minister.

Suddenly the doors burst open.

"Nooooooooooooooooooo!" screamed Chuckie as he burst into the cathedral.

"Chuckie?!" cried Chazz.

Everyone in the room gasped.

"He said his first word!" said Chazz. "He's talking!"

"Nooooooooooooooooooo!" screamed Chuckie again as he continued to run down the hall, to his dad.

Chuckie quivered at the thought of seeing Coco again. He was extremely nervous.

In another section of the plane...

"I never thought I would see that Coco woman again" said Kimi. "She almost ruined a few lives. And this time, if she tries anything, I'll give her a piece of my mind!"

"Maybe you should let Tommy do that" said Dil. "After all, he is the smart one!"

"Very funny Dil" said Kimi.

Finally, the plane arrived in Paris.

Waiting for them in the airport was Coco and Jean Claude.

"Kira, so nice to see you again!" said Coco.

"Nice to see you again too Coco" said Kira.

"And Kimi! You've certainly changed over the last eleven years!"

Kimi didn't say anything.

"Kimi, mind your manners" said Kira. "Coco is a changed woman."

"Don't count on it" said Kimi.

"And if it isn't Chuckie!" said Coco. "So nice to see my ex-favorite boy in the world!"

Chuckie didn't say anything.

"I said, it's so nice to see you again!" said Coco.

Chuckie still didn't say anything.

"Oh for gosh sakes!" said Coco. "Anyways, the wedding is on Sunday, which is in two days. I've already got my wedding gown picked out. We just need to decorate the hall where the wedding will be, and finally, I'll need gifts. What's a wedding without dozens of expensive gifts?"

She pulled out a piece of paper. It proceeded to roll across the floor.

"Now I'm going to read out the list of gifts to buy for me" said Coco.

"Don't bother!" interupted Chuckie.

"Chuckie! Please!" said Kira.

"Never mind" said Coco. "I'll read it later. Jean Claude, call a cab for our guests!"

A little later, everyone was at Coco's house. She had invited them all to dinner. Although the grownups were grateful, the kids weren't.

At dinner, they ate a fine meal of lobster, caviar, and crepes.

"So who is your fiancee anyway?" asked Chazz.

"He's a business man" said Coco. "He'll be coming on Sunday on the Paris Express train for the wedding."

"Him and I are good friends" said Jean Claude.

"Oh right, as if!" said Kimi.

"Kimi! Please! Where are your manners?!" said Kira.

"Well I still don't like Coco" said Kimi.

"Me too!" said Chuckie. "Not after what she did to us! Imagine, kidnapping us and throwing us into that warehouse!"

"But I'm a changed woman" said Coco.

"Only by age!" said Dil. He and Phil hi-fived.

"Mom, I have a feeling that Coco is up to something!" said Kimi.

"Alright! That does it!" said Chazz. "You kids get no dessert!"

"Fine then" said Angelica. "We'd rather starve than eat with her!"

The kids stood and left the table.

"What was that about?" asked Stu.

"They just don't forget about what she almost did all those years ago" said Kira.

A little later...

"Now kids, Coco has offered us her hospitality" said Chazz. "And we're going to all get along just fine whether you like it or not!"

"But dad..." started Chuckie.

"No buts Chuckie" said Chazz. "If you kids keep up this behaviour, you will be grounded! Understood?!"

"Yes dad" said Chuckie and Kimi.

For the next two days, everyone, except the kids, helped Coco prepare for her wedding. The wedding was to be held at a small Paris chapel.

Finally, Sunday afternoon arrived.

In one room, Coco admired all the gifts that the guests had bought for her.

"So when is the groom coming?" asked Kira.

"He'll be coming here soon" said Coco. "For now, let me put on my wedding gown for the ceremony."

Kira left.

Meanwhile, in the hall, the kids were dressed in fancy clothing. The boys wore black suits with ties, while the girls wore dresses of different colors. Angelica's was yellow, Susie's was green, Lil's was pink, and Kimi's was blue.

"I still think Coco is up to no good" said Kimi.

"I wonder why she's still in the room with all the gifts?" said Chuckie.

"Something smells fishy" said Phil.

"That's the tuna that the cook is preparing" said Lil. "Yuck! Worse than caviar!"

"I just don't understand how our parents can trust Coco!" said Susie.

"I'll never forgive her" said Angelica. "Not after the way she betrayed me and didn't give me my float!"

"If you must know Angelica" said Tommy, "it was you who started that whole mess!"

"I said I was sorry!" said Angelica.

Just then, Dil came into the hall.

"Guys, you're not going to believe this" he said. "But I just got off the phone with the Paris train station."

"What is it Dil?" asked Tommy.

"You know that man that Coco said was her fiancee?" said Dil. "The station said that there is no such man!"

"You mean, he doesn't exist?" asked Chuckie.

"You got it!" said Dil.

"I knew Coco was still up to no good!" said Kimi.

She ran down the hall towards the room where Coco was, with her friends following her.

She turned the knob on the door. It wouldn't turn.

"Guys, Coco has locked the door!" she said to her friends. "I knew she is up to no good!"

"We're going to have to do something drastic!" said Chuckie.

The kids backed away from the door.

"On three" said Kimi. "One, two, three!"

The kids charged at the door and rammed into it. The door burst open. They ran into the room.

"Stop right there Coco!" said Kimi.

Coco was about to climb out the window with the last of the gifts. She climbed back down.

"The jig is up Coco!" said Chuckie.

Coco turned to face the kids.

"I wondered whether I'd be seeing you kids here" she said. "Children can be such a pest."

"The choice is yours Coco!" said Kimi. "Cooperate and we won't do anything. Make things difficult and you'll get the clobbering of your life!"

"So you had no intention of getting married" said Chuckie. "Not only that, but the station reported that your fiancee doesn't even exist!"

"Correct" said Coco. "I made the whole thing up. And I was just about to escape with all the gifts. Then I could sell them and make quite a fortune."

"Good plan" said Dil. "Too bad it didn't work!"

"And I almost got away with it" said Coco. She smiled wickedly. "And I still may!"

"Give it up Coco!" said Chuckie. "We're far too much for you to handle!"

"I see you haven't changed at all Chuckie" said Coco. "I remember when you ruined my last plot! If it weren't for you, I'd be the new owner of EuroReptar Land. But because of you, my career ended!"

"Who were you expecting anyway?" asked Chuckie. "Quasimodo?"

The kids laughed.

"I don't know who he is" said Dil, "but his name sure rings a bell!"

"You kids can't stop me" said Coco. "I'll make my escape."

"Get her!" said Kimi. The kids charged at Coco.

"Silly, you can't stop me!" said Coco.

"Wanna bet?!" said Chuckie.

"Bring it on!" said Kimi.

The kids tackled Coco and knocked her to the ground.

"Say uncle or else!" said Phil.

"Never!" said Coco.

Just then, Jean Claude came into the room.

"Oh my!" he said.

"You fool!" said Coco. "Get them!"

Of course, Kimi heard Coco. She stood and ran at Jean Claude, and tackled him, knocking him to the ground. Then she began to apply what she had learned from watching wrestling.

"I'll have you know that I'm the state junior wrestling champion!" she said.

"Ow!" Jean said repeated. "Somebody call security!"

Just then, the grownups came in.

"Chuckie! Kimi! Kids!" said an angry Kira. "What is going on here?!"

The kids stopped what they were doing.

"I'm not saying anything" said Jean Claude. "I'm not saying anything about this sham wedding."

He suddenly realised his mistake. "Oops."

"A sham wedding?!" said Kira. "Coco, you haven't changed at all!"

"And I would have gotten away with it!" said Coco. "If it weren't for your bratty little children!"

Just then, a french policeman came in.

"Excuse me" he said, "I got a call from Dil Pickles. It turns out that this is a fraud wedding."

"It is" said Kimi. "We stopped her just in time.

The kids got off of Coco. Kimi got off of Jean Claude.

"Coco Labouche, Jean Claude, I won't arrest you both if you promise to return each and every gift that was bought. Agreed?"

"Yes sir" said Coco and Jean Claude.

After Coco and Jean Claude had done so, there was a huge party among all the guests. Everyone had a wonderful time, except Jean Claude and Coco who served and cleaned up.

A little later, the grownups and the Rugrats were on an airplane to bring them home.

"I apologize" said Chazz. "You kids saved the day."

"Thanks dad" said Chuckie.

"Don't mention it" said Kimi.

"I'm sorry I've been so hard on you" said Chazz. "For a while I thought Coco really had changed. I guess I was wrong. But for now, let's just put all of this behind us and enjoy the trip home."

A stewardess came up to them and took their orders. They all had a wonderful meal as the plane flew through the dusk sky towards home.
